- All building permits approved this year by the construction industry regulator will be reviewed afresh to weed out rogue officials who have colluded with property owner to license shoddy building projects.

- Many of the studio apartments and 1 bedroom is estates such as Eastlands, Embakasi, Githurai, Zimmerman are facing unique problem of lacking fresh air circulation in all the rooms, thus it becomes embarrassing to use restroom when guests are around, since the odor that follows affects those in other rooms.

- International Green Structures, an American based company is rolling out construction panels made of rice and wheat straws that can be fixed on site for 3 days.The company has invested over Kshs.700 million in the production plant in Thika in order to assemble enough compressed agriculture fiber (CAF) panels to construct at least 3,000 houses a year.
